Hmmm… so Harry was able to buy this phone when it has not even been released for sale in Europe yet, much less North America ??? Interesting !
In any case, this phone shows much promise, and seeing as Nokia remains extremely popular in most parts of the world despite its remarkable drop in sales and waning consumer interest, the N8 should do much to restore some of that interest especially if Symbian 3 lives up to expectations ! I for one am quite ready to abandon SE in favour of this phone as I am more interested in the hardware, since I already know of Symbian’s usability. Version 3 adding the ‘necessary’ features of a touch interface should only make it more worthwhile to use.

What do you expect from nokia? the coming 4th gen iphone, new blackberries and android devices, are also just high end phones since all of them, more or less, has the same functions unless they will add a feature that will revolutionize the smart phone technology. find a more creative title for your blog.

Hi there,
If you own a Nokia 5800 or any phone of the sort, do not upgrade to the N8. It is a disappointment. The battery life talking time is awful, if you use 3G or Wi-fi as much as I do, then even worse. The battery saving feature takes you down to edge (Choose battery consumption or internet speed).
When talking on the phone, make sure your cheek is away far from the screen because if it touches it the communication is cut. Yes, you can deactivate the screen every time you receive a call WT..?
The video quality is good and the camera is impressive if you are not too particular about the wideness angle of your shot. Displaying your pictures on a tv using the HDMI cable adapter is like I have never seen coming from a phone!
The email application is a nightmare configuring a POP mail and you need to try many types of settings before getting to the right one. I haven’t figured yet how to delete emails from my mail server – which did exist in my N 5800.
Overall, I was waiting for this phone for a long time, once launched I jumped to the opportunity. Not only Nokia cheated me since they were supposed to put the charge on 9 months installment which they have not (they are very polite when you talk to them on the phone but they would not solve the problem), but this phone is a mistake buying at this point of time since they are trying on us Symbian ^3 .
My Nokia N8 is my 2nd mistake after my Dopod 900. If you get the chance to test it before buying just do it. That would save you lot’s of money or just wait until Symbian ^3 is more… how should I put it … mature.
Cheers.

The N8 is a great phone, I love the quality of materials and of course his wonderful camera. a feature that I like is that it can read USB memory and FM transmitter.
But I’m not too sure about the good performance of the new Symbian OS, this phone I think it would be better with android.
Anyways I think I will wait for the E7

I brought my NOKIA N8 on 9th Jan 2011 @Rs 24500/- from Imphal CNN Mobile with great hopes and enthusiasm. But to my dismay my N8 started frustating me with the frequent hang and restart problem from day 7 onwards. By now it must have restarted by itself more than thousand times. So fed up with the phone at times I almost smash my phone, but controling my temper i took the phone to the shop and seek for a replacemen as it was well within warranty period promised by NOkia( well promises are promises)but bluntly refused saying that nokia care imphal can only decide on replacement. So i went to Nokia Care imphal and ask for replacement. They too refused saying it has to be sent to the company and the company only will decide the replacement or swap and the whole process will take 30 days. They provide me a job sheet customer copy bearing job sheet no 805504886/110305/32 dated 05/Mar/2011 and instruct me to come after 30 days.Few days after i contact nokia care head office stating my issue and request them to swap my phone instead of letting me wait for one month to get my phone rectified. But again refused saying i have to wait for 30 days. Just imagine 30 days without phone, well finally i give up hope and bought a new dual sim chinese phone worth 2000.This is much more better than the frustating NOKIA N8 which cost me Rs24500/. So folks if at all you wish to buy this N8 , take my word you are are going to waste your Rs.25000/. Let Nokia care take one year or so to get my phone repaired, they still have one year warranty period at their hand. Horrible phone , i repent now for buying this phone.
