Nokia N900 Anounced

Maemo is Nokia’s choice for a new class of device whose closest relation is the desktop computer rather than a cellphone.
Nokia today marked the next step in the evolution of Maemo sofware with the introduction of the Nokia N900. Running on open source, Linux-based Maemo 5 software, this device delivers a PC-like experience on a handset-sized device.
The first time Nokia deployed Maemo was back in 2005 in the Nokia Internet Tablet. Ever since then the software has been evolving and now with the Nokia N900 we are broadening the choice for technology enthusiasts who appreciate the ability to multitask and browse the Internet like they would on their PC.
The Nokia N900 takes its cues from the world of desktop computing and it allows the users to have dozens of application windows open and running simultaneously while taking full advantage of the cellular features, touch screen and QWERTY keyboard.
