Nokia N95 – Mobile Phone Review.
Nokia N95 is a smart revolutionary phone in the world of iPhones and Apple’s smart phone. N95-4 is laced with 8 GB memory, discarding the microSD card slot. It has aptly been compared to Apple’s iPhone. Nokia N95 series has incorporated similar software features in its N95-3 and N95-4. Either you can choose N95-3 with a smaller memory or the N95-4 with 8 GB already installed.
Excellent features of this phone include:
- It has a superior quality audio.
- It has amazingly strong signal.
- Networks – 2G and 3G is both very well communicated with.
- This phone also has a high-quality camera.
Plus points which make this phone stand out from its counterparts:
- Online application stores enable the customers to buy applications.
- You have the choice to download software from just any location.
- Nokia Maps 2.0 is already loaded in the N95-4. You can download data with no problem at all.
N95 is not devoid of drawbacks. Let’s just browse through the overall features of the phone. Though the software is easily downloadable from anywhere, but the problem is that only one percent of the software is listed from the application. In the United States, some service is unavailable like the Nokia Maps. This feature flaunts live traffic support, which does not work there. It was difficult to understand certain things, for instance, how to enable Night Mode and so on. Even the default settings are not turned on. Nokia Maps might be convenient, but in reality it might be disturbing while driving, as the screen is turned off.
The audio is good but it also does come free of problems. There are frequent dropouts and disconnections in the Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP). A major problem is that N95-4 denies working as a wireless modem. It simply does not work with Bluetooth DUN modem and connections severely suffer on PC and MAC. Compared to the internal connection, the speed is extremely slow, almost half the original speed. To counter this problem, JoikuSpot, which is a Wi-Fi based station application, was added. When same problems showed up, it indicated a virus in the phone’s IP relaying system.
Summary: We have expected a lot from the makers of best cell phones with the launch of the N95-4. However, we could analyze all the problems while reviewing he phone. Not just that, even the price is quite high in comparison to iPhone 3G which has a multi-touch screen. Online trading sites have tagged N95-4 differently. Best Buy is stuck with $760 but Amazon is selling it in $600 and a bit above. The phone does not have UMTS 2100, which makes it unsuitable for use in foreign countries. N95-4 is not truly a world phone, as it denies 3G frequencies at home and abroad. Now if we compare N95-4 and N95-3, the price is more but in other respects, it is a better one. N95-3 better qualifies for Nokia’s flagship phone rather than N95-4. We still can’t deny that that it has a good battery life and amazing camera. Bad application store, complex Wi-Fi and buggy Bluetooth are simply the major problems in the phone, which one cannot do without
