Nokia N96 Mobile Phone Review

Overview: Nokia brings N96 with 16GB memory that is unlike the previous N95 with 8GB memory. This phone is not very distinct from the previous one except of the enlarged memory. N96 has the same lustrous black coating that adds a lot of glamour to the phone. This particular phone is greater in width and length in comparison to its predecessor phone N95. Look wise, the phone is smart and also quite lighter and thinner. With an expanded memory, microSD card has also been added. This feature was very essential and it distinguishes the phone from N95.
N96 is a multimedia phone and therefore needs a huge memory to support that. Another interesting feature is the DVB-H mobile TV tuner that can only be used once you at places where DVB-H TV services operate. You may try this out in Italy as it supports this service. In the UK this service is pretty much absent as there are some regulatory and technical matters that actually prevents it.The new N96 phone seems to be excelling the previous Nokia N95 in matters of consistency. The previous phone was charged with clumsy and slow operation though it was later upgraded and certain issues were resolved.
Some of the best aspects of the phone can be seen as:
Video playback: N96 has a ‘fold-out’ stand at its back that helps the user to fix it on a desk for a mini widescreen experience. Video playback is smooth and can be recorded at 30fps. A-GPS is paired up with Nokia Maps and you can take aerial photographs by simply downloading the Google Maps. As the phone slides down we find amazing media player controls. Along the D-pad or scroll wheel, hidden media player controls have been added and this brightens up as soon you enter multimedia mode. This is an exceptionally new feature, which was not present in the previous N95 phone.
Camera: The camera is very sharp as usual and it has the similar N95 Carl Zeiss lens. Undoubtedly the photographs come out really well. It is a 5-megapixel camera and does not upset you with its superb 16 million-color screen. There are 2 LEDs plus a brighter flash, which enables to shoot in dull light conditions. It is really a good feature for videos. A secondary camera situated in the front enables video conferencing as well.
Music: N96 has a decent music player and can upload music tracks from PC or simply by Bluetooth into its 16 GB memory card. It has twin speakers that go high pretty well only with some faint disturbance at the higher levels. You are given a 3.5 mm jack plug by which you can upgrade the given headphones. However there is FM radio that would definitely charm you whenever you are done with your music on the phone.
N96 seems to be a very good multimedia phone especially with this extended memory of 16 GB. It has a regular battery life though hasn’t been improved at any levels. This phone is best suited for those who would prefer a high memory as it surely can help in this regard.
