Overview: Palm Centro is undoubtedly the smallest in the line of smart phones. It looks amazingly cool is possibly the most good looking smart phones available. This phone incorporates the Palm operating system that it had earlier discarded. Palm Centro is the latest in the lines of smart phones and its sleek model can only enhance its beauty.

This phone has the look of a smart phone and its aerodynamic features are just a step ahead. Inspite of these and the updated Treo look, a lot of highly desirable features are missing. Let’s take a closer look on this new Palm Centro. The keypad is QWERTY and the keys are packed up very closely. This does not effect the functioning as it has a protruding shape made up of some spongy plastic. This makes it easy to use the keys and also very unique as well. The D-ring along with the central ‘Palm’ key has four keys surrounding it, which can be used with equal ease as there is very less slippage. It is handy as there is switches on the crest, which can turn the ringer off at just one go if you need it to be silent. The phone has a good key lock system that automatically works if it is undisturbed for 30 seconds. It also locks the key as soon s the call end button is pressed. You can also reach the voice memos through the side lying buttons that is right below the volume control keys.

Music & Tune:

The loud speaker is very good when compared to others in loudness with a minimum bass. There is a mono headphone with the phone and also A2DP Bluetooth that enables wireless listening. 3.5mm jack plug is the standard one for this Palm Centro as well. MP3 music files are managed by pTunes and this makes it easier to select by genre, playlist, artist and album.

Internet on Centro:

Browsing on the Internet is fun and quick on the phone. When you want to scroll down you have to use the D-ring’s bottom edge. In order to move the cursor, sides of the phones need to be pressed. But it was difficult to find the browser as one needs to scroll down the menu page to locate it. Centro’s software has all four types of Google Maps and Office documents but its problematic to use these without 3G or Wi-Fi connection. The phone does not actually have a 3G or Wi Fi connection, quite surprising though.

Some major drawbacks of the phone:

Palm Centro has a camera with 2x digital zoom and 1.3 megapixels which makes it seem clumsy and untidy. When there are cameras of 2 megapixels even on a low budget phone. Flash is absent alongside any quick accessible keys to the camera. It is difficult to take snaps in a jiffy but there are some applications of editing which you can try out. It is touch sensitive but disturbing as switching between virtual keys and hard buttons can be tedious.
